School Values
We are a values-based school (respect, honesty, co-operation, kindness, determination and responsibility)
and we insist that every member of the school community demonstrates these values, so that our children feel safe, valued and enthusiastic about their learning.

KINDNESS
We believe that kindness is a vital life skill. At TDJS, we develop this through everyday interactions across our whole community — pupils, staff and families alike. We use assemblies and real-world examples to show why kindness matters beyond the classroom. Central to this is our belief that everyone deserves dignity, understanding and compassion.
ENGAGEMENT
We emphasise the importance of fully engaging with everything you do — whether learning in class, participating in sport or contributing to wider school life. We want pupils to take ownership of their learning so they can maximise their progress and realise their potential. Engagement means being curious, resilient and willing to challenge yourself.
RESPECT
Respect is another essential life skill. We want our pupils to develop a strong understanding of the wider world and their place within it. This includes respecting others’ beliefs, backgrounds and experiences, as well as taking pride in how they represent themselves and our school community.
